Flora

The Populus Tremuloides, better known as the trembling aspen, is unique because it has both male and female trees. Aspens grow in almost any type of soil as long as it isn't too dry such as deserts. It can grow in the foothills, subalpine elevations, from Alaska to New Mexico. Aspens can develop new niches as they can take over a whole area after a fire. When aspen forests burn down, the roots remain under the ground, therefore the aspens will grow back.

Aspens need full sunlight in order to survive. If a forest burns down they can grow in that area in the old soil. This provides food for organisms. In addtion, beavers can use this tree for building and for a food source. Deer and Elk eat the leaves and twigs and occasionally the bark.

The bark on aspens is caressed in a natural powder that can be used for sunscreen. This sunscreen keeps the tree from becoming too hot and dying. The bark is also used to cure internal rupures when made into tea, treat fevers and clear urinary tract infections. The sap in the spring , when it is wet, has a sugary taste, used for children of tribes to have an edible snack.

Great information about the aspens success after a fire! You could use a little more info about any plant or animal species that rely on the aspen as a part of their niche. Overall, well written and concise! Good job1
